  • A valid permit and plans must be on-site
  • Manufacturer’s instructions must be left with the unit CRC R106.2
  • Design, construction, and workmanship shall comply with accepted engineering practices and shall be of such character as to secure the results sought to be obtained by this code. CMC 309

Electrical

  • All work done in a neat, workmanlike manner CEC 110.12
  • Service receptacle: within 25’ CEC 210.63
  • Disconnect: 30 x 36 clearance CEC 110.26
  • Check nameplate for max overcorrect size
  • The panel must be labeled CEC 110.22.A
  • Mini-Split Disconnect: An electrical disconnect for each interior unit shall be provided within sight of the unit (adjacent to the unit) or provide a circuit breaker lockout. CEC 440.14

General

  • Condensate drain: see condensates
  • 3” concrete or approved pre-fab pad CMC 1105.2
  • Ducting insulation and support: CMC 603
  • Insulation: UV-resistant on refrigerant lines ASTM B280
  • Seal line-set cover: (rodent proofing)
  • Tubing Secured CMC 1109
  • Refrigerant access ports: on the exterior must be tamper-resistant CMC 1105.11
  • Egress: Maintain a 3′ egress path from the backyard to the right-of-way CBC 1029.2
